The primary work of the Ambassador Baptist Church is worship, prayer,
soul-winning and the preaching and teaching of the Bible. In an effort
to do these things effectively certain ministries have been organized
and others are being developed.
- Ambassador College of Ministry
This is a 4 year college
level program that is a combination of classroom and extension learning.
We operate our program from the Tuesday following Labor Day to the Tuesday
before Memorial Day. Three courses are taught each 12 week trimester.
Each course of study includes weekly lectures on Tuesday evenings and
outside projects plus reading assignments. The classes are tuition free.
A registration fee and the cost of the textbooks are all one needs to pay.
- Bible-View Counseling
Through the pastoral leadership of
Pastor Fry and other qualified laymen, Christian counseling is provided
to those who request it. It is absolutely free of charge. This is not
psychology or psychiatry, but simply a listening ear and counsel from
the teachings of the Bible. It is our conviction that the Bible has
the answer to life's most difficult questions.
- Deaf Ministry
We presently provide deaf interpretation for
our worship services. We also have a deaf Sunday School class. It is our
desire to reach into the deaf community with the gospel of Christ,
teaching the Word of God, providing opportunity for Christian fellowship
and meeting the unique needs of those who are deaf.
- ESL Classes
Every Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 AM,
free English classes are taught to those who desire to speak English as
their second language. We have had several nationalities represented in
our classes. The primary textbook is the Bible.
- Fair Ministry
Each year Ambassador Baptist Church partners
with Amazing Grace Missions with an evangelistic outreach at the Frederick
County Fair. Many people come into the tent for a presentation of the
gospel and receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. The fair is the third
week of September each year.
- Falam Baptist Church
Meeting each Sunday afternoon at 1:00 PM,
a worship service is conducted in the Chin Burmese language. Many of these
dear folks are persecuted refugees from the land of Burma.
- Family Visitation and Soul Winning
Every Saturday morning
at 10:00 - 12:00 the families of our church are encouraged to meet
together and then go visit those who have been absent from services,
those who are sick and those who are simply church prospects. This is
an opportunity for couples and entire families to serve the Lord together.
- "Iron Man" Men's Ministry
This ministry is committed to encouraging
men to spiritual maturity; becoming all that God has created them to be;
conforming to the image of Christ; identifiable as followers of the Lord Jesus;
examples of His unconditional love in all areas of their lives. We meet monthly
for breakfast, prayer, encouragement and instruction.
- Ladies Banquets
We have banquets for the ladies of our church in the
Spring and in the Fall. Included are activities and fellowship as well as a
delicious meal.
- Music Ministry
We place a strong emphasis on the congregational
singing of traditional hymns and gospel songs. We have some very talented
people who incorporate various styles and tastes in our special music,
but avoid all gospel rock and contemporary Christian music.
- Nursing Home Ministry
There is presently two weekly visitation
groups that visit, encourage, and share the gospel at the Northampton Manor.
A weekly Bible study is held as well as a monthly worship service. Two
Sunday afternoon services are held each month at the Tasker's Chance
retirement community also.
- "Operation Go" Soul Winning Club
This program is designed to
recruit and train believers in the work of personal soul-winning. The
teams meet on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. for instructions and then go to
various homes in the community.
- Rescue Mission Service
A team from our congregation regularly provide
the worship service for the Baltimore Rescue Mission. This is a great old-fashion
Gospel rescue mission. We are pleased to be a part of this great work.
- Sunday School
We now offer at 9:30 AM each Sunday morning a
family class, Deaf Ministry class and graded children's classes. The family class
is designed so that the entire family; mom, dad, and the children can sit
and study the Bible together. A traditional children's Sunday School class
is offered to those who attend without their parents or whose parents prefer
for their children to attend a class structured in this fashion. Other
classes for adults and children will be organized as God gives us more
qualified teachers.
- Super Church
Super Church is the name given to the second
Sunday School Program of Ambassador Baptist Church; 10:40 to Noon each
Sunday morning. This time is designed primarily for the children we transport
from around the city who attend without their parents.
- Teen Ambassadors Fellowship
Each Sunday evening following the
regular service, our teenagers have a time of fun, food and fellowship.
- Vacation Bible School
This is an exciting time of children's
songs, games, Scripture memory, Bible lessons, puppet skits and contests.
Our Vacation Bible School is held at the church however, we hope to add more
Vacation Bible School programs around the city of Frederick in various
locations in the future.
- Van/Bus Ministry
Transportation is provided for adults and
children in the Frederick area who would be otherwise not attending church.
These are sometimes handicapped or poor. We believe there is a Scriptural
mandate to love and care for these special people. They provide an
opportunity to display "pure religion and undefiled" (James 1:27).
